2008 Apex Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Note: Dark, opaque ruby colored core with a garnet rim, the 2008 Apex Cabernet is rich, dense and structured.  Intense aromas of vanilla-accented blackberry, cassis and dark cherry reduction mingle with nuances of fresh garden soil, licorice spice and black olive.  Though aged in 40% new French oak, the wood is supported by ripe, dark fruit that fills the mid-palate and extends well into the finish.  The tannins are sweet and polished with a slight grip on the finish, indicating its youth.  This wine should drink well into 2015.
