In 1902, William B. Bridgman, one of the pioneers of the Washington wine industry, moved to Sunnyside.  He was the first to plant wine grapes in the Yakima Valley.  In 1914, he planted Harrison Hill and in 1917, he planted Snipes Mountain vineyard.  Bridgman produced dry dinner wines at a time when sweet dessert wines were in vogue.  To honor his daring spirit, Bridgman Cellars was introduced in 1993.  These exciting wines emphasize the use of newer varietals produced in smaller lots.
